Terms & Conditions

1. General

These terms and conditions apply to all services provided by Gethin MTB, including mountain bike training courses and bike hire. By booking any of our services, you agree to these terms.

2. Booking & Payment

• All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by Gethin MTB.
• Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed.
• Bike hire requires a refundable deposit of £100 per booking, payable on collection.
• Prices are as quoted at the time of booking and include VAT where applicable.

3. Cancellation Policy

Training Courses

• Cancellations made more than 14 days before the course: full refund.
• Cancellations 7-14 days before: 50% refund or transfer to another date.
• Cancellations less than 7 days before: no refund (transfer may be available).
• If we cancel due to weather or other factors, a full refund or transfer will be offered.

Bike Hire

• Cancellations more than 48 hours before hire date: full refund.
• Cancellations within 48 hours: 50% charge.
• No-shows: full hire fee charged.

4. Bike Hire Terms

• Hire bikes are for use by competent adult riders only (minimum height 5ft / 152cm).
• You are responsible for the bike during the hire period.
• Bikes must be returned in the same condition, allowing for normal trail use.
• Damage beyond normal wear and tear will be charged against the deposit.
• Loss or theft of the bike will incur the full replacement cost.
• Helmets must be worn at all times whilst riding.

5. Training Course Terms

• Participants must be physically fit enough to complete the course activities.
• Any medical conditions or injuries must be disclosed before the course.
• The instructor reserves the right to refuse participation if safety is a concern.
• MIAS certification is subject to meeting the assessment criteria during the course.
• Course content and locations may be adjusted due to weather or trail conditions.

6. Assumption of Risk

Mountain biking is an inherently risky activity. By participating in any of our services, you acknowledge and accept the risks involved, including but not limited to falls, collisions, and injuries. You agree to follow all safety instructions provided by our instructors.

7. Liability

Gethin MTB carries appropriate public liability insurance. However, we are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury arising from your participation in our services, except where caused by our negligence. We strongly recommend that all participants have their own personal accident and equipment insurance.

8. Photography & Media

We may take photographs or videos during courses and rides for marketing purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please inform your instructor at the start of the session.

9. Military SLC

Standard Learning Credit claims are subject to approval by the Ministry of Defence. Gethin MTB is an approved SLC provider but cannot guarantee approval of individual claims. Full course fees are payable in advance; SLC reimbursement is handled directly between the participant and the MoD.

10. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
